The Master Administrator logon (PMID as the username with associated password) is designed for the owner of the company to use to access Master Administrator functions – it is not intended for regular use. Instead, each system user should log on to the Control Panel with their individual username and password. Here are a few of the reasons you should have a separate logon for each system user:

  • User logons help our Member Support team recognize and support each system user. When we receive a support request from your office, we cross reference the request with your user list. If the person requesting support is not a user on your account, we may be required to refer the question back to the main contact.
  • User logons allow you to assign each user their own specific password and authorization level. The authorization level allows you to limit feature access so that each user is only able to see and use the menu options that are needed to perform their assigned tasks. When someone logs on to your account with the Master Administrator logon, they have complete access to everything – suspending, canceling, or upgrading your account; posting or modifying certain accounting data; re-configuring your account and Control Panel; changing your system preferences, to name a few.
  • Because the HERO PM system is web-based, a terminated employee could potentially access the system even when they are not in the office. If each staff member has an individual logon and password assigned, no security crisis develops when someone leaves your company. When a staff member leaves your company, you can simply suspend or terminate their user logon so they will no longer be authorized to access your Control Panel.
  • When someone logs on with their individual username and password, certain activities are associated with their user account. For example, you can view which user entered a listing or made certain changes. And HERO PM can help you track which user added or deleted certain data.
  • Users feel more comfortable when they know their account access is restricted and that they can only access the functions they should use. It gives a user a sense of security to know they cannot accidentally mess things up in areas where they don’t belong.

You can view your current users and add user profiles under Configuration > Users & Agents in your HERO PM Control Panel.
