I have tenants who just want me to pull the rent from their bank account, but I hate the liability of ACH drafts. Is there a solution for this?
Absolutely, this is one of the core values of HERO Harmony.
When a tenant enters into a lease, you can let them set up a preapproved payment plan. There are numerous options – but in a nutshell the tenant authorizes you to draft their bank account, and they never have to send you their bank account information. This provides “set it and forget it” benefits, with none of the ugly liability that is present in every other system.
I have an owner who is being deployed overseas. Can he just give me a credit card authorization in case an unplanned emergency pops up?
This is built right into Harmony (provided your selected payment processor allows it).
With a preauthorized payment method, the payer controls the authorization, and never needs to send you the actual credit card number. When you have a charge or bill that’s authorized per your agreement, you can simply charge their preauthorized method.
In many cases, when the card expires, the replacement card will automatically take its place, without any update required from your owner.
I want to accept credit cards for rent and dues, but the fees are outrageous and it’s so hard to track. What should I do?
Harmony solves this one with tremendous elegance.
There are certain rules, but typically you can charge a convenience fee for credit card payment – so it doesn’t end up costing you anything.
