Many HERO PM members have been using a version of HERO Legacy that’s quite old, and are ready to transition their account to the latest edition of HERO Harmony. There are a few things you probably want to know as you make this change.

In no particular order:

Harmony is Modern

Like Legacy, Harmony is cloud-based, but is built on the modern web with significant changes. It includes predictive AI interactions and a smoother user experience. Through the use of wizards and fusion processes, Harmony gives you easier, faster access to the things that you do, and allows you to jump between tasks without starting over. It provides more information in ways that are easier to absorb, clearer navigation, and way more customization flexibility. This means that there’s a learning curve, but users report it’s significantly more intuitive than Legacy, and really easy to grasp and get familiar with.

Harmony is More Secure

Everything in Harmony is designed with the latest security in mind, from MFA, to double-encrypted TINs, agent transfer wizards, an advanced open API, and a new user authorization schema. Because of this, each user that transitions must have their password and authorizations configured before they can use Harmony.

Harmony is Completely Searchable

From the universal search to entity filters, profile tagging, and smart sort, Harmony makes use of advanced algorithms for easy searching and sorting of what you’re looking for. Your Legacy data will be transitioned when you upgrade to Harmony, but the full power of search is only available on things you’ve entered, accessed, or updated in Harmony.

Harmony Guides You

While Legacy provided basic help and tips, Harmony has an expansive dynamic guide structure that informs and prompts you through what you’re doing. Each area of Harmony has page guides, and you can add custom instructions for only your team. Each process gives you the opportunity to outline your own guidance for your team to conform with your policies and procedures. Things that may not be allowed in your jurisdiction will pop up with warnings before you finalize them. And every item in Harmony has a help tip that describes exactly what you’re looking at and what it’s for.

Harmony is Highly Customizable

From simple things like setting your own visual theme, sounds, and backgrounds, to more complicated things like whether you want to pass credit card processing fees through to your owners or pay them yourself, Harmony has 25 years worth of property management customization requests built in as configurable options. If you were ever wishing that you had an option for this or that in Legacy, most likely it’s built right in to Harmony. Most of these are available as simple configuration options in your settings, but some are guru options that our support team can help guide you through (you’ll see a guru icon on these ones). If you are a company administrator, it’s worth taking a look through all your available settings to fine-tune it to work exactly as your business works.

Harmony has Some Totally Reimagined Functions

Besides what’s new, what’s improved, and what’s streamlined, Harmony has some functions that have been totally reimagined from the ground up. If you use these, they do require that you configure them from scratch (with our help, of course), and learn the differences. These are different from the improved and streamlined functions, where your old Legacy configuration will be imported and updated when you transition. Such reimagined functions include:

  • Rental applications and vacation bookings
  • Properties, floorplans, and their relationship to units
  • Custom reports
  • Payments
  • CRM message templates
  • Leases, reservations, and management agreements

Harmony has Everything

Where Legacy only offered options to managers of long and short term rental homes, Harmony offers a suite of solutions for these, plus commercial, storage, and association management. Where Legacy only offered accounting integrations with third-parties, Harmony offers a full, advanced trust accounting system built in. Where Legacy offered a few ways to communicate with prospects, tenants, and owners, Harmony offers full CRM including campaign management. If you only do the things you did in Legacy, they’ll still be better in Harmony; but if you fully embrace Harmony, it can revolutionize your business and allow you to do things you never thought possible in an integrated suite of cloud-based property management solutions. Go through the Ideas section of your Harmony dashboard, or explore the Harmony U articles covering everything from properties, to RFQs, to experience ratings, to vendor suitability, and everything in between, to get a grasp on all that Harmony offers.
